Praying with Jesus — Rolling Ridge Retreat Center April 20, 2023 — 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
The prayer that is commonly known as The Lord's Prayer is one that many memorized as young children. Even though we may recite it often in church as adults, there is more to this prayer than our English translations have to oer. When approached from its Aramaic roots, the Prayer of Jesus reveals a vision and path of following in the way of Jesus that is both inspiring and imminently practical.
Drawing upon the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz and using a balance of teaching, chanting, sacred movement, guided meditation and Centering Prayer, this Day Apart Retreat is intended as an introduction to this deeper work — allowing retreatants to enter into a deeper relationship — both with the Prayer of Jesus and following in the way of Jesus.
Cost: $79 for program and lunch. Registration at the QR code below.

Introductory Program
A Centering Prayer Introductory Program in five parts was recorded this summer and is available on the Contemplative Outreach YouTube channel here. It includes the Centering Prayer Workshop with presenters Keith Kristich, Patricia Clough, Adam Gordon and Irene Chang presenting Prayer as Relationship, The Method of Centering Prayer, Thoughts and the Use of the Sacred Word, and Deepening Our Relationship with God respectively. Parts 2 – 5 are four continuing sessions including Q&A, a time to pause the video for 20 minutes of Centering Prayer and a video by Fr. Thomas Keating. This Zoom-enabled program was sponsored by Contemplative Outreach and the Centering Prayer Introductory Program Service Team.
There are two new groups on Meditation Chapel especially for people new to Centering Prayer with special support for establishing a practice, i.e., learning more about Centering Prayer, Q&A, etc. They are ongoing and open to all. They are especially helpful for those who have recently attended an Introduction to Centering Prayer and are looking to join a group with others new to this prayer practice. You can find those groups in the Peace Chapel:
